December 1980 Nicelle Davis | | | The Gospel of Judas is stolen from a male antiquities dealer. The heist is organized by a woman with well manicured nails. She runs her reds under the purple lining of his jacket. He lets her take photos of his entire collection. He poses next to the door lock. *
Judas sold Jesus for forty silver pieces and / or a kiss. As a traitor, my bets are on the long shot kiss. It's my only chance at winning. * Michael D. Chapman, has just finished catching small children from jumping off of cliffs when he decides to take a trip to New York. He is tired of everyone looking towards the wrong light. John Lennon is no Jesus. No sir. The phonies got to go. Yes sir. * I break into this world while my mother is working at an antique shop. I christen a Victorian rug with embryonic fluid. The old is stained new. * No one yet has read the codex. No one knows it's Judas howling in that papyrus. The antiquities dealer gets the scrolls back. The woman disappears. What are the chances that gun shots are synchronized -- bullets organized into choirs to make harmonies of this world -- * I want to believe we're mimics of the divine. John Lennon accepts Chapman's kiss with gratitude. All is done in, with, and for Love. * Judas is locked in a safety deposit box in Hicksville, New York; rotten humidity eating chunks out of his words. A gun is grown into the flesh of Chapman's hand. John Lennon bleeds on the steps of the Dakota. I recognizing color for the first time. My eyes focused on mother's light. * Jesus says, forgive you, if forgive me. Judas says, forgiven you, but I won't forgive me. Jesus says, we'll just have to keep this show going then. * Mother says, I didn't mean to burn you. I am too young to understand --
language: fire is a verb substitution for love. |

As the story goes, the raven’s wings aren’t black. They’re waves, capping dark omens. Crows with curtained throats. Who knows what falls from the shelf inside us. Even gods skin their knees to bleed. The man at the end of the aisle is pocketing two-for-one toothbrushes. The cashier is hand-perking her breasts and picking her teeth with a receipt. I’m sorry you won’t see your son, his skin peeling its white scarf through blizzards. I haven’t sanded the road, won’t strut across town in my ballet slippers. Your shape in this bed is my shape. Erase my whole notes from your page. Two stoplights ago, the wind off a pickup pulled us further from home. When I said the moonlight made graves to square off the night, I meant to say pull over. Listen: my heart’s a gutter of ravens tugging at the firmament.

| How To Be Good by Nick Hornby |
[July 20] |
There are some- rock singers, novelists, young columnists in the newspapers, those who affect to think of anything involving children and day jobs and package holidays as a long and agonizing spiritual death- who would regard us as beneath contempt, such has been our wholehearted embrace of some sort of conservative lifestyle ideal. And there are others, you know who they are, who would regard us as being impossibly lucky, blessed, spoiled by our upbringing and our skin color and our education and our income. I have no quarrel with the second bunch at all- how could I have? I know what we've got, and what we haven't had to experience. But the whole other lot... I don't know. Because it seems to me that the normal life, or the kind of "normal" life that these people despise, already has plenty in it that prevents an agonizing spiritual death, and plenty that is simply agonizing, and who are these people to judge anyone? What has happened to Molly in her first eight years? More or less nothing. We have protected her from the world as best we can. She has been brought up in a loving home, she has two parents, she has never been hungry, and she receives an education that will prepare her for the rest of her life; and yet she is sad, and that sadness is not, when you think about it, inappropriate. The state of the relationship between her parents makes her anxious; she has lost a loved one (and a cat); and she has realized that such losses are going to be an unavoidable part of her life in the future. It seems to me now that the plain state of being human is dramatic enough for anyone; you don't need to be a heroin addict or a performance artist to experience extremity. You just have to love someone.

Hey guys, just a quick question, sorry for text only; I've heard of 'Wreck this Journal' alot and I think its a pretty awesome idea. I've also figured out that you buy it and then fill it out, which is pretty awesome. But my parents wont allow me to buy one. So my question is, does anyone have 'Wreck this Journal' that they have made themselves by scratch? I was thinking of doing it but I'm not sure if that would be ok. I don't know, I'm pretty tired so my question may be dumb. Thanks though =) Also, people who Journal/Scrapbook events in your life; If you get very behind on events because you've been busy or whatever, how do you catch up, do you find it hard to catch up? Thanks =)

And I'm dying for ya, crying for ya, I adore ya One hit of your love addicted me Now I'm strung out on you darling
That? That's lyrical genius.
I love you, Paul. Despite the womanly tears. If you can love me despite the fact I like mariah carey.
Sigh. Things have been so bad lately.

| ITV Superfails to commit |
[July 20] |
Special report by Morag Cuddeford-Jones
While Supernatural season five has been given a USA airdate of September 10, there is uncertainty over whether the next instalment of the demon-slaying drama will be shown in the UK. Ratings have continued to rise and awards are starting to pour in for the show and its two leads, Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki, but UK digital channel ITV2 has, at this point, not picked up the next season. ( Morag has more to say... )
I think it's probably too early to really be worried about this, but I will rage like a mother effer if they actually fail to pick it up. About Jared and G.I. Joe though, I have to say - if it's true - I'm kind of glad. The movie looks awful. Boy needs to recognise that nobody gets famous by covering themselves in shit. Except for that kid from Slumdog Millionaire, I guess.
